There are a few variations within these programs, but in the main they are considered undesirable, unless the user specifically requests them. Download.com also host their own files, which means that software cannot be altered at a later date to include any viruses.

Adware: Adware is a little less scary than spyware, though no less annoying to the average computer user. Adware programs will continually display popups and unwanted adverts while you are browsing. I want a free screensaver from the internet that shows 3-D fish, waterfalls, nature, etc. Except i want good ones that wont harm or damage my computer. Once i downloaded one on my old computer and it got a virus some how but anyway, i wanted to know if anybody knew any good sites that have them.
